Twas the Fair before Christmas

Last weekend I participated in a craft fair called the Twas the Fair before Christmas. A woman who is much like a mother too me always invites me and kind of gives me little choice as to whether or not I will attend. The year before I also attended the same fair and had a far different experience; suffice to say, a much worse one. The fair is always properly run and there are lots of vendors and we are well taken care of. My poor experience came about due to me. You see I am no artist and as such and recognizing my own limitations I was depending on someone who is an artist to help me out, only to discover a few days before the fair that he had done almost nothing and I was forced to show up with minimal product. Needless to say I did very poorly in sales and in representing myself.

This year I relied only on me to produce everything I was intending to sale. While I fell short in the various amount of product I wanted to provide, I was able to show up with a fairly decent variety and amount to sale. Now the vendors that were in the foyer with me were all out going, social, funny ladies and we hit it off and had a high ole time of it. Each one left with either a purchased piece of mine or a gifted piece of mine. A great time was had by all.

Apparently some of the customers that came through were quite smitten with the items I had. My sales were phenomenal and each piece I sold was accompanied by one of my business cards. As such, one of the customers has a friend that is holding a craft sale event in her home and was adamant that she contact me to attend. Normally I only do the one fair to support my "mom"; however, I was greeted with such enthusiasm and an apparent desire to attend that I have accepted. It seems that I am kinda okay at this crafty thing.
